Fey's Comment on Scar.

This is the official statement from Tina Fey about her scar. It's been mentioned and quoted a few times before, but I thought it deserved it's own post, because people always want to know what Tina has to say about the scar.

November 25, 2001. New York Times. Tina Fey stated:

"It's a childhood injury that was kind of grim,' she said. 'And it kind of bums my parents out for me to talk about it."

That's the official line. It gives us little to go with except that it happened while she was a child.

That fact, alone, rules out some theories, but does little to help us solve the riddle of the Tina Fey Scar.

This is from Datalounge. This same story has been posted 2 or 3 times in the past and it comes from 2nd City people. Another poster on Datalounge confirmed it...

"The story that was told at Second City, over and over and over...

Tina was playing in her front yard, I guess at about age 9, when a man pulled up in a station wagon and aksed her for directions. She came up to his window, gave him the directions and he thanked her. He brushed his hand across her cheek in a seemingly-loving way and she blanked out - completely in shock. He drove off and she stumbled into the house. Her mother took one look at her and fainted. The man had palmed a razor between his index and middle fingers and sliced her wide open.

I have heard this same story from 3 different people who worked with her at Second City. Some still work with her. "
