I'm not the only person interested in the origins of Tina Fey's scar. There are others. I know this. Many of them find their way to this blog, hoping to have their questions answered. Others are like Amberdextrous, a MySpacer, who admits to having the scar obsession. He writes:

"The current chief obsession of my life is Tina Fey's scar. I noticed it the first time I saw her and have been dying to find out what put it there. Unfortunately, my research only tells me that it was a childhood incident that she refuses to discuss."

Then there's some dude on a discussion board related to Tucker Max whose obsession with the scar takes a decidedly prurient tone:

"I wanna lick Tina Fey's scar. A girl with a scar on her face (not acne) has a story to tell. That's hot."

It's nice to know I'm not alone. In terms of interest in the scar, that is. It's not like I want to lick it. Well, under the right... Anyway....

Fey to Shill for Credit Card Company

Remember when it was Karl Malden and his gargantuan nose encouraging us to use American Express products? Now that I think about it, I'm not sure he actually did the credit cards ads, he may have just pitched the travelers' checks. Hmmm....

Anyway, AmEx is apparently planning to upgrade in the spokesperson category. A brief entry at Canada.com reveals that the plastic (that's plastique if you're toting "platinum" status) provider will snag none other than the beautiful, witty and cryptically scarred Tina Fey as a pitch person.

The gossipy column in which the statement appears also spends time talking about Andy Dick's peeing habits and an upcoming Brad Pitt movie. If you're having a celeb-gossip jones, check it out.

"The Detective" is still the #2 guy on the totem pole at Google for those searching with the query "tina fey scar". Google Answers still holds the top spot, even though the page in question has about 1/10th the info about Tina Fey's scar as "The Tina Fey Scar Detective".

Meanwhile, Yahoo has it right. If you decide to search using Yahoo (and apparently there are at least 20 or 30 people who do so), you will get this blog as your #1 result for "Tina Fey Scar".

Hell yeah. "The Detective" owns Yahoo.

Now that I'm under the pressure that can only come from being #1, I better get my caboose on the track, hunting down clues that will finally explain the source of Fey's scar. We can all hope Tina Fey wins a few Emmys for "30 Rock", but even if she doesn't, we'll get to see her on stage. Fey wasn't able to wrestle the hosting job away from inevitable disappointment Ryan Seacrest, but she did land a gig as a presenter.

Some teary-eyed Emmy winner will get their trophy from Tina Fey!

According to The Canadian Press, Tina will be a hardware handler along with several other TV notables, including "30 Rock" talent and child-berater Alec Baldwin:

That probably doesn't shock you. The movie came out forever ago and it's not like it was only in limited release, a mere cult film that might be incredibly hard to find. So, you can watch Tina in "Mean Girls". As they used to say out on the playground, "no duh".

But wait, you can watch JUST Tina Fey in "Mean Girls". Some enterprising YouTubester went through the flick with a fine-toothed comb and excised all of Tina's screen time from the rest of the movie. It's a Tina Fey-only production.

Andy Samberg, the Saturday Night Live jokester du jour, is just about ready to roll out his first movie ("Hot Rod") and in the process he's giving plenty of interviews.

UnderGroundOnline ran their piece of Samberg's public relations junket recently. It's the usual stuff, for the most part, but it does include one Tina Fey reference. That's enough to earn it a commentary here at "The Tina Fey Scar Detective".

When discussing the butterflies in his gut during the SNL audition process, Samberg mentioned that having Tina chuckle at his work provided some much-needed confidence.

"I could hear Tina Fey laughing and some other people were laughing. I thought, "Cool!" It gives you confidence. Then they said they wanted to see me again a few weeks later. I came in and again got a few laughs, but the whole time, it's like doing a crappy stand-up gig at some hole in the wall. It's like, "Okay, let's get through this. I know these bits, so let's get through them." I'm told that when I did "out-of-breath jogger," which was the last thing I did, that Lorne laughed at that. You'd have to ask him to confirm whether he did or didn't."

Tina Fey checked in with good ol' David Letterman last week. The August 23 appearance wasn't necessarily destined for the television hall of fame, but it's always good to see my favorite scar-bearer on the boob tube.

Anyway, I noticed that someone got around to putting the video up on YouTube. I know that many of you are just after scar info, but this is just as much a fansite (ooh, I hate that word) as it is an exercise in detective work. Thus, I am putting it out here for all Tina buffs to see.

Wood Draws Fey/Sedaris Parallel

Admission: I love the word "parallel". I especially enjoy that double "L" before a single "L" thing.

Now, to the story. More specifically, to a Heather Wood story at the Huffington Post in which she advises studio and network heads on preferred means of vaulting a few of her favorite women comedians/actresses to superstar status.

Among her favorites is Amy Sedaris (who I also think is a real talent). Anyway, Wood makes an interesting comparison between Amy and Tina Fey. Here's the remark:

"Amy Sedaris is Tina Fey... on crystal meth. She's got the same pleasant good-looks, same wicked sense of humor, same Second City credentials, but when it comes to performing, Sedaris prefers to go as far as taste and the FCC will allow."

I'm sure that you know at least a few rudimentary facts about VoIP communication. You know, "voice over internet protocol"? Those cool phones that function over the net instead of involving cell towers, landlines, Ma Bell and all of the other stuff that have usually dominated the world of calling.

A bass guitar discussion forum. A random entry about Saturday Night Live. A comment about Tina Fey. Things naturally move to the subject of Tina Fey's scars. Then... This:
"And of course the definitive page on Tina Fey's scar: http://www.bondcliff.net/content.mv?file=tinafey I think she's hotter than a forest fire in hell, so know this is in jest."

Immediately, I copy the link (it wasn't live) and head off to this "definitive" source of information. Nothing there. Nothing.

So, I'm wondering. Did Bondcliff.net know the secret of Tina Fey's scar. If so, why is the information now unavailable. What happened to it and the author. Is there something that happens to you (or maybe within you) when you finally find out what caused the scar?

We'll never know. Because it's gone.

I try to feel better. I tell myself that "this is in jest" part of the comment means that there was nothing too important there in the first place.

Interesting Scar Observation

I found this remark in a series of comments on a blog post regarding "gaydar", which is a pretty damn random way to find grist for the "Tina Fey Scar Detective" mill, don't you think?

Anyway, it looks like the commenter in question may have stumbled upon an answer about Tina Fey's scar. No, don't get worked up. She doesn't know the cause of the scar. She does, however, have a very good explanation of why it is so seductive and interesting.

Here's the comment:

"Thailand girl- I don't think that's the case here. The point is more it's not whether he's gay or not. It's like Tina Fey's scar-she won't say what it's from which makes everyone WAYYYY more curious than if she did. But ultimately it's up to her (and HIM) to disclose info or not about themselves. I guess my point is- WHY are we (me and my office mates) SOOOO curious about this?"
Tina Fey's scar is interesting because we don't have an answer. That's believable.

But what does that mean about The Detective? If I find the answer, am I merely puncturing an entertaining balloon. Is it possible for one's fulfillment to decrease as they approach enlightenment? You get the idea.

If you're reading this post, I'm willing to wager that you're a television fan. Most fans of tv shows tend to be film buffs, too, so I'd bet you fall into that category, as well.

So, even though this news isn't Tina Fey-centric, I think it has a high degree of applicability. I've discovered a groovy website where the film and television criticism runs deep, smart and fast. It's called Critics Rant and it's a "must" addition to your favorites list.

The idea behind Critics Rant is simple enough--let people climb up on a virtual soapbox to discuss (and yes, critique) new movies (they have great movie reviews there), DVD releases and television programming. They're creating a vibrant community of people sharing opinions and ideas.

If you dig TV and film, you should check out the site and its forums. They have a newsletter, they give away free DVDs to site members, and more. Heck, they even cover video games.

Fey Trying to Broaden Appeal

30 Rock is the critics' darling and the show appears ready to move full-steam ahead into its second season.
Not every post can be scar news. Sometimes, I need to mix things up with a little bit of plain ol' Tina Fey news. Here we go...

How does Tina Fey, the mastermind behind the program, hope to avoid a sophomore slump? The easy way out would be to keep things on a dead-even keel, but that's not the strategy. Instead, Fey plans to make a few changes in hopes of keeping the show's core audience while simultaneously expanding its appeal to those who haven't yet come down with a case of 30 Rock Fever.

Many of the Tina Fey scar theories involve events that may have happened in her young adult life. These rumors persist even though Fey has described the scarring as a "childhood" event.

Is it possible that Fey's remarks are less than accurate? Are the theories involving boyfriends in LA and adult stalkers possible? The photographic evidence indicates they are not.

Take a look at the high school photo of Tina Fey, which you can find at Stereogum. Although the image lacks high-definition and isn't necessarily Fey's most photogenic moment, a discerning viewer can make out the presence of the scar.

Thus, the scar must have originated at least a few months prior to the high school photo. Those who claim the scarring was an adult matter appear to be incorrect.

Mexico Vacation Destinations

I used to think that a trip to Mexico meant getting tanked during spring break with a bunch of other college kids or sneaking across the border to visit houses of ill repute and/or semi-legal pharmacies. Boy, I was Wrong (with an intentionally capitalized "W").

Today, Mexico has become a leading destination for discerning travelers with great taste. Case in point: Karisma Resorts. These folks run multiple resort properties along the so-called Riviera Maya and they are amazing.

No corroboration. No real support for the claim found within the old post's text. Another dead end? Maybe. I'll keep digging, though.

That information is no longer correct.

Snopes has dropped. The Associated Content bio slipped a notch, too. Now, at #2, "The Tina Fey Scar Detective".

Second. I'm celebrating my near-victory.

I'm probably trapped in the 2-spot forever, because a "Google Answers" deal on the whole issue holds the top slot. Google Answers undoubtedly has enough Google Mojo to stay on top for awhile.

I've spent countless seconds investigating the origins of Tina Fey's scar, to no avail. Sure we have leads (ranging from Stalker Boyfriend to Evil Razor Man to War of 1812), but none of them have really put us any closer to The Truth.

I've spent time digging through lesser-read and even lesser-known resources in hopes of finding an answer. It then occurred to me that I've neglected mainstream news sources. What if one of the Big Boys had spilled the scar beans long ago and the information was just sitting there for all to see. It could be that my more in-the-know resources were too cool for school and had overlooked the obvious.

Enter USA Today. Not literally, of course. That would be like some weird Ah-Ha video and I'm not recommending that. Figuratively. What does USA Today have to say about Tina Fey's riddle of a scar?
"They love her glasses, which imbue her with a smart-girl sexiness but in fact serve a practical purpose: they help her read the cue cards on "Update." When you don't have scar news, you might as well report on Tina Fey's torso. Thus, here I am commenting on a DeadBrain ode to Tina Fey's breasts.

The author got a glimpse of her chest during a viewing of "Mean Girls" and developed an immediate, healthy appreciation for the orbs. As the photo accompanying this post so clearly illustrates, there IS something to like about them, huh?

The Kitner Boy, who claims to live in a "porn tree" and who frequents the Opie & Anthony discussion boards is responsible for Tina Fey's scar. Or so he claims.

The Tina Fey Scar Detective was mentioned by an Opie & Anthony fan on its boards and a discussion ensued. In addition to commentary about the way scars can make a woman sexier and some general remarks regarding Tina Fey's overall heat, The Kitner Boy piped up with a new explanation for the Tina Fey disfigurement.

She got lippy with him and he did the rest.

Here's the quote:

Now, all I need is a good answer to the question. Don't worry, I'm working on it.

Oh, there is some bad news, however. The #5 result for the "Tina Fey scar" query this morning was The Worst Thing Ever Written.

This post doesn't have much, if anything, to do with the scar. Sometimes, I deviate a little bit from that, though. Sometimes, I sneak in some of that dreaded paid advertising, for instance (someone recently commented that it was too obtrusive, but I gotta pay the bills). Sometimes, I just post something Tina-related.

Today, I just wanted an excuse to post a flaming hot picture of Ms. Tina Fey.

This picture is a personal favorite and it is an insanely inspirational piece of photography. By that, I mean that it inspires my imagination in all sorts of ways not suitable for this relatively family-friendly blog.

Okay, you get the idea. I should be researching and reporting on the scar, but I didn't think my Tina Fey blog would ever be complete if I didn't point out just how darn attractive she was in this snapshot.

FanFan Needs HDTV

As part of my unending quest to reveal the truth about Tina Fey's scar, I came across an Associated Content article about her. It's just a standard bio that reads as a little "fannish", no breaking news to report on our favorite facial disfigurement.

However, I did see something in the comments...

People have commented on the piece, indicating their appreciation for the work and for Ms. Fey. One of the comments claims that the scar originated after a stalker paid a slasher to cut her up. This story has zero credibility and I've yet to find any information consistent with that tale. The commenter also claimed that they made a Lifetime movie about Fey and the incident, which is a complete lie.

That non-helper was not my favorite comment, though. That honor goes to FanFan who claims love Tina Fey but says he/she was surprised to find out that the TV hottie and comedic genius had a scar on her face. He/she had never notice.

Sure, love is blind.... But REALLY!!!?!?!?!

I think FanFan needs HDTV, or at the very least an upgrade to cable or something. It's an UNMISSABLE facial feature, FanFan. I have a good eye doctor if you need a referral or something. Sit closer to the TV. Whatever it takes.

To answer you second question... This is relevant to the topic of Tina Fey's scar because some weisenheimer wrote a phony skit about how the quest for understanding its source could be the basis for a series of children's books.

Why aren't you laughing? Isn't that a hilarious premise?

You can ride me as hard as you want for having this blog so long and not having a definitive answer as to the source of Tina Fey's scar, but let me tell you something, I'm doing a much better job than the people who contributed their theories and opinions at Yahoo.

How did Tina Fey get her scar? The Yahoo "community" attempted to solve the riddle that's been puzzling me for years. Some of the proposed explanations?

A phaser. That's right the fictional space-age weapon.
Saving lives during the War of 1812. Why do people think that saying "War of 1812" is, in and of itself funny? It isn't.
Etc.

Hey, I might not have the answer to the haunting question of Tina Fey's scar, but I'm doing a much better job than the yahoos at Yahoos. At least give me that much, huh?

Must Stay Awake/Must Warn Others (maybe "I See Robots") named Tina Fey its "Girlfriend of the Week" a little while back.

We can argue over just how auspicious that title really is, but we can't disagree with the analysis that led to Fey's victory.

Here's an excerpt:

"I used to love her on the Weekend Update. Amy Pohler and her were a hall of fame combo and before that her and Jimmy Kimmel were pretty funny as well. She was the head writer of the show. Imagine that. She's a girl and was in charge of all these totally goofy boy comics. That must have been rough. Tina must be able to bust balls."

Agreed.

The reason I mention the post in question is not just to give a blogospheric thumbs-up to MSA/MWO (although I suppose that's happening, too).

It's mainly because last night I was thinking about just how nifty the Poehler/Fey one-two Weekend Update punch really was. Those two were awesome doing the faux news and I miss them.

So, Tina Fey... Girlfriend of the Week for some other dude and missed by this one, particularly during Update segments.

I just did a quick check for new news about Tina Fey and, more particularly, Tina Fey's scar. What I found amazed me.

Hey, I might be a jerk (or whatever) for writing a blog that at least ostensibly (and in title) focuses on Tina Fey's scar, but at least I am not intentionally inserting phrases about Ms. Fey's countenance into streams of pornographic keywords in an effort to rule the search engines.

That's right, folks, people are trying to direct those who might Google something like "Tina Fey scar" to pages featuring "red hod t**n an** s*x and non-stop M*L* f**k**g", etc.

I'm not one who's all that hung up on propriety, but that seems just a wee bit over the top to me. Don't you think?

So, to you keyword stuffers... I say one thing and one thing only...

It's been a good June for Tina Fey. The buzz about Baby Mama is positive and she even picked up a nice award to close out the spring.

According to Cinematical, the upcoming Tina Fey flick, Baby Mama, will feature Ms. Fey, Amy Poehler, Greg Kinnear, Maura Tierney and Sigourney Weaver. That is what I call a star-studded cast.

Fey tasted mucho Hollywood success with Mean Girls, but this will be her first real chance to soak in some serious spotlight. Hopefully, this comedy will measure up to the potential of its superstar cast. If nothing else, the Fey/Poehler combo guarantees at least a few laughing fits.

Debunking the LA Tina Fey Scar Myth...

One occasionally-offered explanation of the scar is that Tina received it as a young adult while living in Los Angeles.

The story goes that Tina was dating a guy in an up and coming Los Angeles rock band and that (depending upon who you ask) the scar came about as the result of an accident or altercation.

Although an interesting theory, and one you can find bandied about with the usual "I know a guy who knew Tina when..." urban legend lead-in, there is no evidence to suggest that the Tina Fey scar happened in the City of Angels.

The one comment we have from Tina, in fact, belies this completely. She refers to it as a childhood incident. Unless Tina Fey is lying to us, there is no way the scar came about while she partied with would be rock stars in Tinseltown.

The explanation is a non-starter.

Extended 30 Rock warms cockles of Tina Fey fans' hearts...

Last week, NBC offered an extended episode of 30 Rock, the new (and awesome) Tina Fey vehicle. Instead of the usual half-hour offering, we were treated to forty minutes of laughs.

That might not seem like a big deal, but those who watched the show undoubtedly noticed the difference. Amazing how much more fun you can pack into a few extra minutes, isn't it?

My favorite part? Tina's lecture to Jack about how to pull off his live performance. There was a certain irony in hearing Ms. Fey give a hardnosed speech like that to Baldwin. After all, Alec is still revered by many for his portrayal of the ultimate hardnosed lecturer in the now-classic Glengarry Glen Ross. All Tina lacked was that little pair of brass balls and a watch that's "worth more than your car!"

Anyway, kudos to NBC for giving me the supersized edition of 30 Rock. Well done, peacock.

This is the official statement from Tina Fey about her scar. It's been mentioned and quoted a few times before, but I thought it deserved it's own post, because people always want to know what Tina has to say about the scar.

November 25, 2001. New York Times. Tina Fey stated:

"It's a childhood injury that was kind of grim,' she said. 'And it kind of bums my parents out for me to talk about it."

That's the official line. It gives us little to go with except that it happened while she was a child.

That fact, alone, rules out some theories, but does little to help us solve the riddle of the Tina Fey Scar.

I was reading through the headlines at Google News. Google. I have a love-hate relationship with them. Anyway, I found some text about the crazy gal in Singapore, Wee Shu Min, who has some kind of big bad elitist streak running down her privileged back and then caught some opinion on the departure of Donald Rumsfeld.

Those two, although seeming quite different, are just about like Studivz and Photosynth, if you get my drift. They are two peas in a pod. Both the rightists in the US and Wee Shu Min's of the world have a nasty propensity toward elitism. The only difference is that we beat up on kids like wee Ms. Wee and promote guys like The Rummy to the top.

I digress.

I got bored with the news and needed a pick-me-up. I decided some VIDEO would supply perkiness. Ran on over to YouTube and caught a few Borat clips. Borat. Interesting cat. That rhymed. I also got to look at that Faith Hill stuff. She spazzed at a hillbilly music award show, but there are conflicting versions of the story. She was faking. She wasn't faking. Who knows? Who cares? It's not like she's Wee Shu Min or anything. Besides, the only one of those steel-guitar picking fillies I get a a hankerin' for is that Ms. Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks.

Oh, and rest assured my South was rising long before she decided to become the Bush-critiquing darling of the left. Something about her...

Anyway...

I wonder if this blog would qualify at ReviewMe. I have my doubts anyone wants to shell out a few hundred bones for me to review their all-about Zune site, but it's possible. I would do a Super Xiaxue Happy DANCE if that were to happen.

Maybe ReviewMe could get me to do a review of Ted Haggard's taste streetwalkin' men. Not that I know anything about that, mind you. I like Natalie Maines and maybe (okay, I will admit it now) Faith Hill a little bit, but not dudes. I would even hook up with Wee Shu Min before sacking up with either Borat or Rumsfeld.

Yet no one knows the answer.

In a post professing to utilize an analysis of Tina Fey's new show, 30 Rock, as a means of educating us about college football, Bend it Like Bironas offers opinion on the new hit tv show and predictions about U of M's overall performance for the year.

30 Rock is to become something akin to The Single Guy.
Miami will go 6 and 6 and eke out a bowl berth.

I don't know enough about football to assess the quality of his prognostication and I am not sure how 30 Rock really tells us a thing about college pigskin.

I found the post while looking for scar material. Not literally, of course. I was looking for written material about Tina Fey's scar. Since the site used all of the requisite Big 3 keywords (scar, Tina, Fey), I found it.

The observations about the tendency of the program to put Tina in a sexy light are interesting. Excerpt:

I spend so much time tracking down tales of the origin of Tina Fey's scar that I sometimes fall a wee bit behind on housework. That's when I dial up the pros. Yeah, I could stay up late running a vacuum and dusting, but it is so much easier to call upon experienced assistance when the filth starts building. Professional housecleaners make a lot of sense.

Google Answers lacks answers about the Tina Fey scar...

One of the best ways to get an answer is to use Google Answers sometimes. Other times, it falls flat on its face. Sometimes, it falls so flat on its face that it leaves a scar. Like Tina Fey's scar. Which is what happened when some wiesenheimer who wasn't willing to create a blog designed to unravel the mystery of the scar asked GA to find out for him.

The Google Answers folk weren't too helpful. They recited the usual stuff about the scar, which really doesn't answer the question at all.

They mentioned the 324 different Usenet discussions about the scar, which include such gems as "saving lives during the War of 1812." Not helpful.

The only interesting thing was a quoted response to the question that apparently appeared at some point on an SNL site. Ostensibly written by Fey herself, it claimed the scar stemmed from a dog bite.

Of course, if you follow the link you get nothing. And, if you try to Google the post, there is no other trace of it anywhere online. Oh, and there is really no reason to believe it actually came from Tina who, to my knowledge, doesn't spend her valuable time trolling fan MBs and who hasn't revealed a thing in past discussions.

Tina Fey Scar Detective is driving traffic, baby...

Sometimes I check to see who is mentioning the Tina Fey Scar Detective. I am always on the lookout, because I assume someone is going to go nuts on me for spending so much time trying to unravel this particular mystery even though Ms. Fey herself has indicated an unwillingness to provide the details.

You know, I just figure someone is going to stumble across this blog and decide to get all self righteous about her privacy, how weird it is that I have devoted an entire site to Tina Fey's facial scar, etc.

Well, tonight I found someone who mentioned the Scar Detective, but not in a bad way. Cory over at Space Tomatoes mentions that he still gets a fair amount of traffic from one of the entries here that referenced his blog.

The Tina Fey Scar Detective is an integral aspect of traffic flow on the internets, it would seem. Thanks for acknowledging the power of this little blog to send millions upon millions of people to other sites. Okay, maybe it was only two or three. But in any case, The Detective is an integral cog in www machine.

I was rummaging around the internets and discovered that Bert mentioned The Tina Fey Scar Detective. He even said it was his new favorite site.

That was several months ago, but I only discovered the mention tonight. And it got me to thinking about my endless quest for information regarding the true source of Tina Fey's scar. Honestly, this blog has strayed from its original purpose lately. I tend to write about Tina Fey news citings, blog mentions and general related nonsense. To be really frank, I also spend a disproportionate amount of time posting to "pay the bills" instead of focusing on the scar.

Finding Bert's comment has convinced me to do more work regarding the origins of Tina's scar and the controversy surrounding it. Since this blog started, Fey moved from SNL to start up 30 Rock and her star is rising. Interest in the scar is escalating along with her popularity (even though the morons at Maxim don't feel the love).

So, it's time to get back to roots and to work toward solving the haunting mystery of that scar.

No new theories or information to report. I read some speculation about a car wreck, but there's no visible support for that particular angle. I'll start looking in earnest again soon.

You can still expect some tangential posts and other Tina-riffic stuff, but keep on checking for the hardcore scar information for which you undoubtedly long. The truth is out there. Somewhere. I might as well be the one to find it.

Maxim proves it is a useless piece of garbage...Again...

It's really not that hard to find like seven thousand reasons why Maxim is a horrible publication unworthy of the paper upon which it is printed. It's a destructive, shallow, dull piece of junk.

But I can live with that.

What I can't abide by is its hateful commentary on the loveable Ms. Tina Fey.

Apparently, the boys with their backwards baseball caps over at Maxim have a hard time with good looking women who also happen to have a brain in their noggins. No surprise, but annoying nonetheless.

Here is part of what the geniuses over at the laddy mag had to say about Fey after giving her the #3 slot on their list of TV's least attractive women...

"Has anybody ever gotten more mileage out of a dopey pair of glasses, a scar, and tripping over her own tissue-sharp punch lines? If Fey is truly the thinking man’s sex symbol, then we humbly hand over our library cards."

Whatever. Lame. Wrong. Sad. Stupid. Insert your own adjectives.

Oh, and come on... Even if you don't like Tina Fey there is no way you can put here toward the top of the unattractive TV list... Think about that for just a second... What about Candy Crowley on CNN? Bea Arthur on Golden Girls re-runs? Marge Simpson's sisters? Etc., Etc. Etc.

If you wondered how things were between Tina and Rachel Dratch who went from being a planned 30 Rock star to part of the supporting cast, you will want to read the interview for sure.

It's not the usual gloss-over crud you get with most celeb interviews. Really, it isn't. Here's a nifty "for instance":

A very positive article in Philadelphia Weekly gives a hearty thumbs up to 30 Rock and Tina's work. It also contains a mention of the scar... And claims that a little makeup goes a long way to reducing its visibility.

If you watched the recent 30 Rock where Alec Baldwin sets Tina Fey up with someone of a different sexual orientation, you undoubtedly enjoyed a few laughs (if not a few fantasies).

For those of you missed it, Tina gets set up on a date with a lesbian, even though she's straight. They hit it off in a platonic kind of way, but by the time it's all done, Tina Fey is willing to consider bending her persuasion a little bit if it allows her to maintain a friendship with the woman. It was funnier on TV than in this summary.

Leah, like me, thought the show was darn good. She has a great reaction to the episode, stating:

The 30 Rock reviews are pretty good and it looks like Tina Fey might have a legit hit in her lovely hands. Alec Baldwin is doing a great job, as is everyone else. A nice combination of good Fey-like comedy and the kind of "least common denominator" gaggery you need to make a network show works.

The one thing 30 Rock has that no other show can capture is the penultimate hotness of Tina Fey, Cal would say. His Livejournal entry refers to Tina Fey as "sex on legs" and he found her "f****ing gorgeous" during the recent show with the lesbian hookup thing happening.

I like Tina, scar and all, but Cal... Cal is on fire.

The RipOff Report sounds like a good idea. Lorne Michaels will be producing 30 Rock, the new Tina Fey program. So, it isn't like he won't be able to work with the sexy scar-bearer on a regular basis or anything. Nonetheless, he doesn't seemed overwhelmed with joy at the prospect of letting her escape Saturday Night Live for primetime...

"Michaels himself suggested that he had already been hit by the train, even though he's also producing 30 Rock. "If you're asking if I'm happy about it, no," he said. "Tina disappearing is a huge hole in the [SNL] writing staff." 30 Rock is scheduled to debut on Oct. 11."

Michaels seems more worried about SNL's future than he does about 30 Rock, which is interesting.

Just in case you didn't see Tina Fey making her announcement, you should know that she will be ditching Saturday Night Live to develop a new prime-time series. Fey broke the news to one entertainment show with a trademark wisecrack:

I am quickly collecting all available information on the breaking Tina Fey story... She is leaving Saturday Night Live to work on a TV series... Apparently, the series will be a parody of SNL.

Did you watch SNL last night? Tina did like this flashback to 2000 on the news and it was stellar. It shows how great she continues to look.

Tracking down the source of Tina Fey's scar is hard work. Too hard, when one considers the limited rewards. So hard, in fact, that I might just get a Maui Condo and take a Hawaiian vacation, courtesy of Gebhart Properties. These guys rent out condos and other resort/vacation properties all over the country's most beautiful state.

The have a 3-bedroom job at the Mahana at Kaanapali Resort that has everything from unique local art to a gourmet kitchen. Of course, you also grab the ocean view and private elevator use. Oh, did I mention that I could take Tina Fey and four of her friends and still have plenty of room? Seriously. It sleeps six and has three bathrooms. Over 2500 square feet.

In Old Lahaina, they have this 2-bedroom corner condo so close to the beach you can almost feel it. Thirty feet away and you are right in the water. Awesome. If you, like me, have tired from your search for the Tina Fey Scar Origin Secret, you might want to take a break in Hawaii.

Sometimes I feel badly. Like this site might be too mean. Makes me wanna give that scar-faced vixen Tina Fey and awesome GIFT BASKET.

Personally, I dig gift baskets. As long as they aren't too heavy on the fruit. That's a bum deal, getting apples.

"Best I can find is that she has publically said, "I don't want to discuss it." Everyone seems to leave it at that then. Best rumor I've found is that her dad cut her with a broken bottle when he was drunk one night during her childhood."

Someone else needed to know and asked for help. This was a comment left in response to the question.

I know of no evidence to support this claim. Pure conjecture. Please, I need solid evidence.

I used TFS as an acronym for Tina Fey Scar. TFS. Sort of neat. Wonder if I will actually keep using it.

Live Journalist Revels in Sexiness of Scar

Tina Fey Scar Detective No Longer Listed at Wikipedia...

See that hole atop the Wikipedia logo? That is where Tina Fey Scar Detective used to be.

Soon after launching this important look at one of society's great mysteries, I was kind enough to stop by Wikipedia and add a link so that others could come and learn about the Tina Fey scar.

A few people found the Detective via this link, but I recently noticed that the once consistent trickle of Wikipedians had ceased. Intrigued, I went back to the Tina Fey page and, to my horror, found this site was no longer listed.

It may have been an oversensitive Tina Fey fan. It may have been Tina herself. It may have been something more...

If Angelina Jolie has a bag of fries and her stomach poofs out a bit while she is out running around town, someone will snap the photo and demand an answer. Is she pregnant? Is she overeating? Did she enjoy the fries? Who made the fries? Is that a vial of the fry guy's blood around her neck? People will demand answers! And, they generally get answers.

Now, on the other hand, if you are a television star and much-heralded member of the entertainment industry and have a pretty noticeable scar down your face you would think that would probably get as much play as some fries from McD's. However, when it comes to Tina's scar, there is a different outlook. Ask "how did she get that?" and you hear dead silence, occasionally punctuated with a cry of "none of your business."

Is it a conspiracy? I don't know. Yet. I am wondering. One of Tina's online fan clubs makes it a Rule Violation to discuss the scar. Despite Gawker's best efforts to produce a good scar tip, they seem to have come up empty handed. A simple link to the Tina Fey Scar Detective is surreptitiously removed from the Wikipedia. It's all a bit strange to me.

I can find pictures of virtually any female celebrity pulling her swimsuit out of her crack while walking down a beach during an otherwise private moment within thirty seconds. I can find out the names and credits of every person Jennifer Aniston has ever bedded. But the scar? Nope.

Tina Fey Fan Group Bans Scar Discussion

Interestingly, a livejournal community of Tina Fey fans has only two rules for membership.

First rule: Don't talk about Fight Club.

Just kidding. The first rule is that you have to dig Tina Fey or those who do. Sounds reasonable.

Here is the Second rule:

"Have fun, use humor and be respectful within reason. And by respectful, I mean, make your posts legible (as possible) . . . Don't spell "your" as "ur . . . and don't ask about something we know Tina doesn't like discussing (like her childhood scar or if she's bopped Jimmy Fallon). If you happen to stalk Jimmy Fallon as well, it's okay to gush about how adorable they are together (in their brotherly-sisterly kinda way). But no {EDITED} fanfic! PG13 fanfic only."

Okay, that is really a few rules all lumped together, but anyway... The fans of Tina Fey refuse to discuss the scar because TF doesn't like rapping about it.

A comedian can bash any and all others, causing untold discomfort for the targets of jokes. But a comedian's scar is somehow sacrosanct because they'd prefer not to talk about it.

Not a big deal. But interesting. Those involved in the livejournal Tina Fey fan community may be a great resource for information and opinion about Fey and Saturday Night Live, but they will offer no assistance in unraveling the Mystery of the Scar.

Sounds like a promising place to find the answer to our riddle, doesn't it? Well, it is NOT.

It is junk. Nothing. The link gives zero information.

No clues to be had.

Tina Fey's scar remains a mystery despite the promise held out by the site.

The site has a great bio of Tina Fey, and it mentiones the scar (of course). No real clues here, but an interesting consideration to ponder. Is it possible that Tina Fey is sexier because of the scar?

"It's got to be the glasses. Those shapely specs are like twin-lens veils that hide the hot woman underneath the nerdy front. Who knows what kind of wild woman lurks beneath that coy exterior? Tina insists that they're for her astigmatism, but we're not fooled that easily. Add to that the peculiar scar on her cheek and she's a hot little mystery waiting to be solved."

A hot little myster, huh? Interesting... Could be...

Gawker Recognizes Scar Obsession

We are not alone in our search for the origins of Tina Fey's scar. Gawker officially labeled the scar its obsession almost two years ago.

In addition to what appears to be a high school photo of Tina Fey, Gawker explained:

"This week's official obsession is Tina Fey's scar. We admit it's childish, privacy-invading, and maybe even a little mean-spirited but when she got all sex-pot on us the door swung open and hit her in the face, so to speak. Please send your theories or known facts to tip@gawker.com and the best entries will be published here. Clues are splattered all over the place and in-depth Google searches provide a revealing timeline of pictures. The case is there, it just needs to be cracked."

This site hopes to crack the case wide open, people. We are gathering each clue one by one until the truth about Tina Fey is known.

Scar Story is "Grim," per Tina Fey

Level Ten's Celebrity Buzz Report supplies us with additional information regardin Tina Fey's scar. It also makes those of us with a burning curiosity feel better, as we are not alone.

They state: "Tina Fey is searched over a 1200 times a day. What are people most currious about, her scar. Tina Fey scar is searched 99 times a day. What is the scar skinny? Although she won’t discuss it. 'It’s a childhood injury that was kind of grim,' she said. 'And it kind of bums my parents out for me to talk about it.'"

We learn: (1) Everyone wants to know about Fey's scar. (2) She chooses not to discuss the matter. (3) It dates back to childhood. (4) The story is a grim tale that bothers her parents.

This articles says she "won't discuss" the scar. Saturday Night Live stated Tina Fey doesn't like discussing the scar, leaving the possibility for revelation open. Which source is accurate? I enjoyed the article about Tina Fey (which included more than just the scar notes) at Level Ten, but for now I will defer to SNL and hold on to my belief that we might find an answer straight from her mouth.

Tina Fey's Scar: The Mystery Begins

Any good detective will tell you to start with the obvious. you might not find anything, but you will feel like an idiot if it turns out the answer was right there in front of you all along.

So, in that spirit, the quest for the story of Tina Fey's scar starts at the official Saturday Night Live site. There is a lengthy Tina Fey bio there, and I would recommend it to any Fey fan.

Would SNL itself reveal the secret of the scar? No such luck. But it does reference it:

"She is slight, with bright eyes, fine features, and thick brown hair. A white scar runs up her left cheek. (She has had the scar since childhood but she hates to discuss it.)"

This is what we have learned. (1) She's had the scar a long time. (2) She does not like to discuss it. Note, however, the article does not say she refuses to discuss it. There is hope.
