Curiosity Loves Company
I'm not the only person interested in the origins of Tina Fey's scar. There are others. I know this. Many of them find their way to this blog, hoping to have their questions answered. Others are like Amberdextrous, a MySpacer, who admits to having the scar obsession. He writes:
"The current chief obsession of my life is Tina Fey's scar. I noticed it the first time I saw her and have been dying to find out what put it there. Unfortunately, my research only tells me that it was a childhood incident that she refuses to discuss."
Then there's some dude on a discussion board related to Tucker Max whose obsession with the scar takes a decidedly prurient tone:
"I wanna lick Tina Fey's scar. A girl with a scar on her face (not acne) has a story to tell. That's hot."
It's nice to know I'm not alone. In terms of interest in the scar, that is. It's not like I want to lick it. Well, under the right... Anyway....

"It's a childhood injury that was kind of grim. And it kind of bums my parents out for me to talk about it." - Tina Fey in the N.Y. Times, 11/25/2001.

When Tina was a little girl no one would play wid her so her mama and dem tied a pork chop around her neck. they done dis so hopin' maybe at least da dog would play wid her. Well, da dog smelt dat poke chop and wint plum stupid on they ass. In a fit of overzealousness da dog got all fuckin' ignorant and bit off a little more than he wanted. Dey hadda put da dog down and put little tina up in da horspital. It's kinna like dat time I got run over by dat truck. Everytihing's fine now but it was nip and tuck for a while, ya know?
I love how "Scar Face" jeans are auto-advertized on the right column. That, and about 10 plastic surgery and fade cream ads.
She had a cleft lip when born and it was fixed when she was just old enough to have the surgery. Who would want to talk about that in a public forum. Now let it go and please remove the article from your blog. Thank you.
She was raped and injured in the struggle. She had plastic surgery to minimize the scarring, but it still left a small trace. Now that it's a big deal as to how it happened, she decided to have it completely removed in hope people would just stop talking about it. And coming from a tragedy like that, she of course does not want to discuss it. The topic needs to stop being brought up.
WE MUST FIND THE ORIGINS OF THAT SCAR! I have one on the same place and the culprit was a pitt bull. Does she have a corresponding scar near the top of her face/head? If not, then it probably wasn't a dog.
"(NEW YORK) Tina Fey's husband is talking about something the "30 Rock" actress would rather not discuss: the scar on her left cheek.
In an interview in Vanity Fair, Jeff Richmond says a stranger slashed Fey's face when she was 5 years old. He says the incident occurred in the front yard of her house.
Says Richmond: "That scar was fascinating to me. This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life."
Fey says talking about the attack would seem like exploiting it.
Says Fey: "It's really almost like I'm able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of `Oh, I guess we should use this side' or whatever. Everybody's got a better side."

Her husband said in Vanity Fair that Tina was slashed when she was 5 years old in her front yard by a stranger. She says that she never wanted to talk about it because it would be like exploiting it, but now she's famous so it's something that will keep coming up until it's dealt with. Which is what her husband was trying to do I guess.
Her husband said in a magazine interview that a stranger slashed her face when she was playing in the front yard at the age of 5, and the reason she never talks about it is because she feels like she would be "exploiting it."

Since shooting to fame and winning Emmys as the star and creator of 30 Rock, Tina Fey has remained quiet about the dramatic story behind the faint scar that lines that left side of her face.
"It's impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it," Fey, 38, tells Vanity Fair in its January issue.
But when she was 5, the future TV star was playing in the front yard of her Upper Darby, Penn., home when a stranger approached the young Fey and violently cut her cheek.
"She just thought somebody marked her with a pen," says her husband, Jeff Richmond.
The Aftereffects
And while the experience was traumatizing, Fey worked hard to keep it from affecting her childhood.
"I proceeded unaware of it. I was a very confident little kid. It's really almost like I'm kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera," says Fey, whose scenes are often shot from the right side.
Though she has overcome the obstacle, Fey says that she does worry about how it may one day affect her role as a mother to daughter Alice, 3.
"Supposedly, I will go crazy," says Fey. "My therapist says, 'When Alice is the age that you were, you may go crazy.' "

Just read a story about it. Her husband was telling it. Apparently a stranger came up to her and slashed her face. She was 5. How terrible, right?
When Tina was a young girl, she was playing in her front yard and was attacked. The scar is where the attacker slashed her face. (this is info from her husband)
she doesn't like to talk about it because it feels like "exploiting" the incident.

ET just reported that it was caused by a violent slasher attack, perpetrated by a complete stranger that just walked by her house while she was playing in her front yard. Creepy.
Check out yahoo today. Her husband said the scar was a result of a stranger slashing her face when she was five years old in front of her house.

According to her husband, someone slashed her face when she was 5 years old. This happened in her front yard.
I'm just glad she's OK now, and made it through that horrible trauma. She's an incredible actress and writer, and I can understand why she wouldn't want to talk about it.

"Fey has never publicly explained the origin of her scar before, saying that talking about it upsets her parents. Now it's easy to see why:
... a faint scar runs across Tina Fey’s left cheek, the result of a violent cutting attack by a stranger when Fey was five. Her husband says, “It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”

I'm so glad to find I am not alone (not that I thought I would be, really). Tina Fey is so extremely sexy and her scar only accentuates this for me for some reason. Call me weird.
From a Vanity Fare article
...when she was 5, the future TV star was playing in the front yard of her Upper Darby, Penn., home when a stranger approached the young Fey and violently cut her cheek.
“She just thought somebody marked her with a pen,” says her husband, Jeff Richmond.
And while the experience was traumatizing, Fey worked hard to keep it from affecting her childhood.
“I proceeded unaware of it. I was a very confident little kid. It’s really almost like I’m kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera,” says Fey, whose scenes are often shot from the right side.

Um, you know....she has said how she got it. Time to find a new hobby.

I heard HER say the scar was from when she was a child playing in her front yard when a stranger.. a man.. came up to her and cut her with a knife! So I can't blame her and either can you for not talking about it anymore.
